Peace Poles

Come to a unique art workshop at the Twenty North Gallery. Calligraphy specialist Rachel Holmes from Indie Art Studio invites you to create a hand-painted peace pole to plant in your garden.

What is a peace pole?

A “peace pole” is a hand-crafted monument that displays a message and a prayer, such as, “May Peace Prevail on Earth,” on each of its four or six sides, usually in different languages.

There are tens of thousands of peace poles in 180 countries all over the world. They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for world peace.

About the workshop:

Take home a 4 x 4-wide pole varying in height from 3-5 feet. Rachel will bring examples, but participants are encouraged to find pictures and the wording they would like to add to their poles. All materials are provided. The workshop fee is $20. A portion of the proceeds benefits Hancock County Arts. SORRY! THIS EVENT IS FULL!
