Create form and value using pattern and weighted lines during a “wire drawing” art session with Sandy Hall. She’ll introduce techniques for using blind and modified contour lines to complete a frameable, 8- by 12-inch compostition.

The two sessions are suitable for beginning and advanced artists. You may register for one or both. Students who attend the first session can build on their skills. Those who attend the second session for the first time can easily learn the technique and, to continue learning more, can observe what the other students are doing.

Sandy will provide images to work from, or students may bring their own.

Need supplies? No worries. Sandy will have supplies on hand for an additional $10 fee per class. Or you may bring your own (see below).

SESSION 2: Animal or Flower Theme

Thursday, June 27, 6:30-8 p.m. The registration deadline is June 20.

Supplies: black fine-tipped sharpie or equivalent, pencil, colored pencils, eraser, drawing board or 1/2 sheet of foamcore to help support the tilted work surface, tape, photo or reference picture of animal or flower, heavier drawing paper (at least 8 x 10 inches for final piece. Multimedia paper like Canson XL is OK).

Second-timers can also bring watercolors, brush, paper towels, and a water container.
